DAY 4

SAPA – HANOI

10 DECEMBER, TUESDAY

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

Breakfast at hotel, transfer back to Hanoi for lunch. Afternoon, visit Hochiminh complex with Ba Dinh Square, outside of Mousoleum, Palace, one pillar pagoda.

Leaving the cold of Sapa and back to Hanoi for 1 night. Today is about food!

Buggy is the default transport in Sapa

From brochures, Sapa is a beautiful place, but for the 2 days we are here, it’s just been foggy.

Rest stop on the way to Hanoi
Jack thinks this is some kind of army ration

At one of the 2 rest stops, Jack saw some packed food sold in ammo tins. He bought one small pack to see what is inside.

When the bus drove off after the rest stop, we felt the rear right wheel wobbling. Not sure if one of the wheels was punctured. About 1 kilometre or so later, we heard a loud clank on the rear wheel well, and the wobbling stopped. Jack thinks maybe a rock had been stuck in-between the 2 rear wheels, and it spun off and hit the wheel well.

Lunch today is Chả Cá Thăng Long, our second Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant

Truc Bach beer, first time trying this

Check back in to Hanoi Army Hotel, then dinner at Sen Tây Hồ.

The large complex includes many spaces with architecture from ancient to modern – Sen Tay Ho stands out with 3 main buffet areas: International, Hanoi and Star Palace. Enjoy the unique culinary combination of the essence of Vietnamese dishes and the diversity from other countries that always satisfy our diners…
