Is Jetstar Asia still flying?
One week before our flight to Okinawa, Jetstar Asia announced they will cease operations on 31 July 2025! As Jetstar Asia said operations will taper towards 31 July, we were worried if our flight to Okinawa would be affected?Jetstar Asia (3K) to cease operations from 31 July 2025.
Jetstar Asia’s flights will continue to operate until 31 July with a progressively reduced schedule, to help minimise the impact of the airline’s upcoming closure on our customers’ travel plans.

When we booked our flights in February 2025, only Jetstar Asia has direct flight to from Changi to Okinawa Naha airport.
It’s a GO!
As our departure date drew close, there was no indication that our Jetstar Asia flight would be affected

So we packed our bags, crossed our fingers and hope our holiday to Okinawa would be a “Go!”
Hungry after low cost carrier flight
No food or drinks served on board unless you pay extra, so we slept through the red-eye flight
We were hungry, and the first stop is to find some breakfast inside Naha airport.
The ramen was so good… I think we will be well fed for this trip
Rental – Toyota Prius
Mercure Naha check in mentioned that their carpark cannot accommodate SUVs or large MPVs, so Jack rented a Prius
We can barely fit both Rimowas into the trunk. Our shopping how??
Let’s go shopping before check in to hotel
Although Outlet Mall Ashibinaa wass just across the road from Orix rental car pickup, we decided to go AEON Mall Rycom instead for shopping and lunch.
There is Montbell, Loft and a Pokémon Centre. As usual Montbell did not disappoint, but we were mindful of the space we have in the Prius, so did not buy a lot of clothes. We were tired and forgot to take photos of the shopping.
Lunch at Aeon Mall Rycom Food Court
More tired than hungry, so we went to the food court for a rest and some food.
Mercure Naha City Hotel
Checked into Mercure Naha city. While Eng Chin rest in the room, Paige, Jake and Jack went out to buy dinner. We went to Donki just beside the hotel, and also 7 eleven, Family Mart and Lawsons.
